Save up to an additional 80% with these FreshDirect savings tips
Smart, creative ways to reduce your FreshDirect grocery bill without using extra coupons
Buy produce in season
Seasonal fruits and vegetables usually cost far less and stay fresher longer. Checking what’s in season can cut more than half off your produce costs.
Choose value size or family packs
FreshDirect often prices larger portions at a lower cost per unit, making it cheaper to stock up on items you use frequently.
Try FreshDirect’s in-house brands
Store brand pantry staples, dairy, and frozen goods are typically priced below national brands while maintaining similar quality.
Check the weekly specials page
Weekly sales commonly reduce prices by 10 to 40 percent. Browsing that page first helps you build a lower cost cart from the start.
Use flexible delivery windows
Selecting a longer delivery window or off-peak time often lowers or removes delivery fees entirely.
Plan meals around discounted proteins
FreshDirect frequently marks down meats and seafood nearing their sell-by date. These are high-quality items that simply need to be cooked soon.
Sort by unit price
Comparing unit prices instead of total prices helps you quickly identify the most cost-effective version of each item.
Use frozen vegetables and fruits
Frozen options can be up to 80 percent cheaper than fresh and have a longer shelf life, reducing both costs and food waste.
Avoid impulse add-ons
FreshDirect’s suggested add-ons near checkout can raise your total unexpectedly. Reviewing your cart before paying helps keep your order on budget.
Batch your grocery orders
Instead of multiple small deliveries, placing fewer larger orders reduces delivery fees and helps you hit free delivery minimums when available.
Compare produce by weight vs. per-piece pricing
Some produce is cheaper by the pound while others are cheaper per piece. Switching between those options can give noticeable savings.
